DFR Diesel Days

FORTHCOMING EVENTS AND WORKINGS
FOR DFDA STOCK IN 2009

2009 has a number of 'diesel' dates in the calendar. There are 8 days through the operating year where the "one train in steam" will be worked by one of the diesel fleet, plus three one-day, gala-type events where we'll be running a more intensive service, strictly diesels only. The middle weekend in June will be a mixed traction event, celebrating 200 years of railways in the Forest.

Event rosters and timetables will be released
as soon as they become available.

Sat. 21st March :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here).

Wed. 8th April :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here)

Sat. 2nd May :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here)

Sat/Sun 13/14th June :- Mixed Traction Gala

Sat. 27th June :- Summer Diesel Event

Sat. 11th July :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here)

Thurs. 13th Aug. :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here)

Sat. 12th Sept. :- Diesel-hauled scheduled trains (T/T here)

Sat. 26th Sept. :- Autumn Diesel Event - an intensive service using the available
diesels in the DFR pool, plus the early 2009 addition to the fleet of class 14, D9521, having been transferred from the Barry Island Rly.. Locos planned to feature are :- D9521, E6001, 31466 and the DMU (1 trip each way).

In an effort to cater for the earlybirds, services commence at 09:02 and the timetable includes, once again, a Lydney/Norchard shuttle formed of loco+brake coach.
